BECKHAM'S TOP ACHIEVEMENTS

In my opinion one of Beckham's top goals was scored against Wimbledon at at Selhurst Park in 1996. Manchester United were 2-0 up in the closing stages of the game when the midfielder received the ball just inside his own half. He saw Wimbledon keeper Neil Sullivan off his line and struck the ball straight over his head for a memorable 50-yard strike.
Unlike his freekicks, the opportunity to do that does not come often and it has probably been done only a few times before or after that famous goal. (Xabi Alonso of Liverpool scored from 60 yards against Newcastle in Sept 2006.)
In October 2001 England played Greece in a World Cup qualifying game. England needed to win or draw the match in order to qualify outright for World Cup 2002. They were down 2–1 when Sheringham earned a free-kick on the edge of the box. Beckham was called on to save England with one of his unstoppable free-kicks and fortunately he delivered. It was a sensational equalizer!
After suffering painful defeats to Argentina at Mexico 86 and France 98, England again faced Argentina on Friday, June 7th in World Cup 2002. Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt formed a solid partnership in the center of the field and Michael Owen was a threat to the Argentine defence. Captain Beckham was the hero after a successful penalty following great moves from Owen seconds before the half.
The 1998/1999 football season was probably Manchester United's best. At the end of that season Man Utd captured the TREBLE. They won the Premiership, FA Cup and Champions League titles in the same season. This was unprecedented in English football and very rare in European football.
David Beckham played a hugh part in one of the more memorable matches of that season. Bayern Munich took the lead after just 6 minutes of the Champions League Final in Barcelona. As the 90 minute mark aproached, it seemed like United would head home with a loss. Some Bayern Munich players were seen celebrating near the touchline. However, what followed during injury time is the stuff dreams are made of.
Beckham took a corner kick that was not cleared properly and United scored after touches from Ryan Giggs and Teddy Sheringham. With a 1-1 scoreline, United pressed for the winning goal and miraculously it came a few seconds later. Beckham's superb corner kick found the head of Sheringham, the boot of Solskjaer and then the back of the goal. A DREAM FINISH AND A FANTASTIC SEASON!
